Do we hold these truths to be self-evident?
Do we still believe in self-evident truths? Every day, the illusion is shattered that the most capable rise to the top through merit and accountability. Instead, we’re engulfed in a dystopian reality where deception reigns.
Is this dynamism—the idea that merit leads to success, opposing tyranny. No! We face a system designed to keep us in the dark. This isn’t a flaw; it’s intentional, exploiting asymmetric information, much like the childhood game “Capture The Flag.”
We never believed the solution to poverty and racial inequality were utopian. We saw progress through public upheavals, expecting equal representation in all fields, inspired by MLK’s dream of living up to our nation’s principles. But without active citizenship, we face apathy and regression.
The American Dream is descending into nightmares, with figures like Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Aileen Cannon betraying hard-fought progress. Now, corruption and betrayal are blatant, challenging us with, “What are you going to do about it?”
If you don’t recognize this, you’re missing what it means to be truly American. Progressive movements achieved incredible milestones, despite the corrupt ones always lurking. Today, corruption openly undermines our ideals.
Our pursuit of a “more perfect union” has stalled, corrupted by greed and tyranny. Accountability and integrity are forsaken, and we’re left with ignorance, cowardice, and apathy.
Are WE being dramatic? Or just pointing out what we all see?
